JPM Advanced Manufacturing began as a home-basement machine shop in October of 1999. By March of the following year, a 1,500-square-foot facility had been leased, a used HAAS 3-Axis machining center purchased, and the company incorporated as JPM Prototype & Mfg., Inc. Three years later, demand for JPM’s services had increased so much that an adjoining facility in the same building had to be leased. This doubled JPM’s operational space to 3,000 square feet. More CNC machining centers were purchased along with a HAAS CNC Lathe, wire EDM, and other equipment.
The company’s growth continued. Employees and equipment were added to meet steadily rising demand, and in February 2008, JPM moved into a recently purchased 18,000-square-foot facility, with an adjoining 31,000-square-foot building. More equipment and employees were added, a quality assurance lab was established, and ISO 9001 certification was procured.
Demand for JPM services continued to grow, particularly in the manufacturing sector of the business. Therefore, in 2015, JPM purchased the entire building, allowing the company to expand to its current 23,000 square feet of floor space.
At this point in JPM’s growth, management determined that redefinition and rebranding was necessary to place the proper emphasis on manufacturing and other facets of JPM’s expanding and evolving business model. In 2020, JPM hired the Blakley Company to assist in this process. JPM Prototype & Mfg., Inc., became JPM Advanced Manufacturing and continued to expand, rebrand, and become ever more profitable—adding employees and bringing in new technology, including COBOT, that increased efficiency, quality, and throughput.
Dave Jeffrey, the founder, owner, and president of JPM, puts it this way:
“Twenty-plus years in this business may seem a long time to some.
Not to us.
We are just beginning.”
